Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Meetmarket is run by Meetmarket GmbH, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, Germany, registered at Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 292113 B. Full company details are in our Impressum.

These terms are a contract between you and us. They apply when you use the Meetmarket app.

2. What Meetmarket is

Meetmarket is a dating and community service for queer adults. You can create a profile, see people nearby, and message them. Messages are end-to-end encrypted.

The service is in beta. Features can change, and some can be missing or fail. The beta is free.

3. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over. You must give your true date of birth. Everyone in the content you share must be 18 or over.

You may have one account for yourself. If we have removed you, do not come back with a new account.

4. Your account

Keep your phone and sign-in details secure. Tell us if someone else gets access to your account.

5. Your content

You own what you post. You allow us to store, copy, process, and show it as needed to run the service, in line with your privacy settings. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except where our Privacy Policy says we keep it.

You confirm that you have the right to share your content.

6. What is not allowed

These rules apply to all use of Meetmarket. Our Community Guidelines explain them.

  1. Underage. You must be 18 or over.
  2. Child safety. No sexual content involving anyone under 18, and no grooming or exploiting them.
  3. Unwanted sexual content. No sexual messages or images to someone who did not ask for them.
  4. Intimate images. No sharing anyone's intimate images without their consent.
  5. Privacy and outing. No outing. No sharing someone's private information or location.
  6. Threats and violence. No threats, no violence, no putting anyone at risk.
  7. Hate. No racism, transphobia, slurs, or attacks on who someone is.
  8. Harassment. No repeated unwanted contact. Stop when someone says stop.
  9. Impersonation. No fake profiles. No pretending to be someone else, or to be Meetmarket.
  10. Scams and spam. No scams, spam, or bots.
  11. Selling and solicitation. No selling goods or services, including drugs and weapons. No sexual solicitation, and no advertising or arranging paid sexual services.
  12. Public nudity. No visible genitals, sex acts, or explicit text on a public profile.
  13. Ban evasion. No new account after we remove you.

You must also obey the law.

7. How we moderate

Before content appears. A classifier checks public photos. Profile text is checked against word lists. These checks can refuse content automatically, or send it to a person.

Reports. You can report a profile, a photo, or a message in the app. People review reports. If you report a chat message, your device sends that message and nearby messages to us, and the report screen tells you this. We cannot read chats in any other way.

What we can do. We can hide content, or ban an account. We decide based on these rules, and we take account of the rights and interests of everyone involved.

What we tell you. If we restrict your content or account, we tell you the rule and the reason. If you reported something, we tell you the outcome. We do not tell a reported person who reported them.

If you disagree. You can ask us to review a decision in the app, or by email to support@meetmarket.io, with your case ID. A person looks at it again. You can also go to court.

Serious crime. We report suspected serious crime to the authorities where the law requires this.

8. Blocking

You can block anyone. You both then disappear from each other's grid, map, and chat. You can undo a block in Settings.

9. Meeting people

We do not check who users are, and a profile can be false. Take care when you meet someone. Use Report and Block if something is wrong.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens next.

We can end these terms with one month's notice. We can act at once for good cause, such as a serious breach of section 6.

Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from this contract within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you create your account. To withdraw, send a clear statement to support@meetmarket.io, or to our address in section 15. You can also delete your account in the app. The service is free, so you pay nothing, and nothing is refunded.

Model withdrawal form: "To Meetmarket GmbH, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, support@meetmarket.io: I withdraw from my contract for the Meetmarket service. Account handle: … Date the account was created: … Name: … Date: …"

11. Availability

We try to keep the service running, but it is a beta and we do not promise that it is always available. Any rights you have by law for digital products stay in place.

12. Liability

We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.

For slight negligence, we are liable only for a breach of an essential contract duty. An essential duty is one that makes the contract possible and that you can normally rely on. In that case, liability is limited to damage that is typical and foreseeable.

Otherwise, we are not liable.

We are not responsible for what other users do, except as stated above and as the law requires.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we tell you in the app before the change applies, and we ask you to accept. If you do not accept, you can delete your account.

14. Law and disputes

German law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live.

We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
